The Half Moon Stool is defined by its simple curved profile — a solid wooden form cut into a soft, semi-circular volume. Its shape recalls familiar domestic objects: a half moon, a rounded loaf, a gentle curve meant to be approached rather than noticed.
The stool is topped with a cotton cushion produced in Akhmim, embroidered with Samak Laban icons. The textile introduces warmth and graphic detail, contrasting the weight and clarity of the wooden base. The embroidery is subtle and placed where the body meets the object, keeping the rest of the form calm and unadorned.
Low and compact, the Half Moon Stool follows the logic of modernist auxiliary seating — designed to move easily within a space. It can be used as extra seating, a resting perch, or placed alongside larger furniture as a supporting element.
